Staying Fit While You Travel

Summer is here, and that means it's time to travel. Some will take a vacation to a fun destination like Walt Disney World.  For others, it will be a retreat in Palm Springs or hiking in the Rockies.

But what about your workout routine? You've worked too hard to miss a week of exercise. What should you bring with you?

TravelFitness.com created a packing list that will keep you moving while your gone. As I reviewed their list, I discovered that we have a few of the items that they recommend in our store. I've included links in the list below.

These are the fitness items they recommend:

  • athletic bag
  • weight-lifting gloves
  • walking/running shoes, cross trainers
  • loose-fitting exercise clothes (layers in winter, light in summer)
  • plenty of white socks
  • ankle and wrist weights
  • other portable workout gear
  • personal travel exercise routine
  • music and music player
  • exercise audiotape/videotape
  • pedometer
  • swimming gear (even if only for the Jacuzzi/sauna)
  • jump rope
  • exercise bands / surgical tubing
  • water weights
  • sports bra, jock strap
  • plastic bag for dirty athletic clothes
